Carlye Archibeque for Chair
2010 Candidate for Chair

Statement
Carlye Archibeque Project Manager, C & B scene STATEMENTOver the last three years I have enjoyed working with the SIGGRAPH Computer Animation Festival. I've learned a lot about event planning, new technologies and networking beyond my own field to find the best content for the computer graphics community. Most of all, however, I have enjoyed serving the community by using my free time to organize the CAF first as assistant producer to Paul Debevec in 2007, then as producer to Jill Smolin in 2008 and finally as Chair myself in 2009. I would love to continue planning events and serving the community as the Chair of the LA SIGGRAPH chapter. I would be bringing a wealth of experience and contacts to the group and I would be equally benefited by being allowed to have a group to shepherd since I'm a natural den mother, aka producer. I have asked two colleagues to run with me for office: Brooke Keesling in the Secretary position: Brooke works at New Deal studios as the director of development and brings a MFA's worth of knowledge about the animation community with her; and Amy Morie, for the position of Vice Chair, whose academic background will bring a nice balance to my more visual effects based background. My main goals in leading the Chapter would be to increase membership; increase sponsor relationships; make more events available to the wide geographical space that is Los Angeles; and make the chapter a medium thorough which new ideas and innovations flow.BIOGRAPHYCarlye Archibeque is an active member of the Computer Graphics and Motion Pictures community.
