Sharon Eisenberg for Chair
2010 Candidate for Chair

Statement
As Chair a few years ago , I thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to lead an excellent team of Executive Council members and event planners, and really appreciated their efforts as volunteers that enabled our organization to fulfill its goals. If reelected Chair, I would implement a “ volunteer recognition” program with appropriate awards, e.g., plaques, certificates and publicly acknowledge the hard work of those volunteers . I would also build a team that would focus on marketing efforts, expanding our presence through community involvement and better utilizing social networking sites . I would propose offering membership to LA SIGGRAPH as a benefit through local companies that reflect our professional goals. As I look back at program postcards on our chapter website over the past 7 years, I am really proud to have been a part of the Executive Council during that time and would continue to support diverse programming, and continue our symbiotic relationship with like-minded organizations. Being a chapter leader is such a rewarding experience. I would work with our Electronic Service Committee to have resources on our site to inspire and encourage future candidates to run for office. Lastly, I would like to see some benefits (discounts on books, portfolio posting, etc.) extended to our valuable members, and would work with our Membership Chair and Executive Council to make this happen
