Coming to visual effects for a fine arts and filmmaking background, Martin finds the power of the visual image to be of paramount importance to storytelling. Martin has worked in Hollywood production and post–production for over 20 years and continues to evolve with storytelling technology.
A two-time Emmy award winner for visual effects in the gritty John Adams for HBO and the eerie American Horror Story, Freakshow for FX, Martin’s work has been exemplary.
Currently serving as the in-house VFX Supervisor for CBS-VFX/Paramount, helming Paramount+ as well as other Studio-Level content. Among his current shows are Hacks, Dexter Original Sin & DMV.
In 2022, Martin was the Visual Effects Supervisor for the Netflix feature, Bird Box Barcelona.
In 2015, Martin was the Visual Effects Supervisor on AMC’s Into The Badlands, taking the show from preproduction to post delivery, in addition to second unit directing principal Live-action film credits include lighting the model miniatures for Deep Rising for Dream Quest Images, Con Air, Armageddon, Flubber, My Favorite Martian, Bicentennial Man and Mission to Mars.
He photographed large-format plates for X-Files and The Practice. Digital compositing and 3D work include the following credits: The Replacements, MonkeyBone, Driven, Dungeons and Dragons, Joyride, Rollerball, Black Knight, The Last Castle, Freddie Got Fingered, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, The Bourne Identity, Tuxedo, K19, Men in Black 2, Scooby Doo1 & 2, Cat in the Hat, Garfield and Catwoman, Lord of the Rings, Two Towers, Thor, Mission Impossible, The Amazing Spiderman, Riddick, Noah. His work has been featured in Cinefex magazine. In addition to his artistry, Martin is an educator at Gnomon School of Visual Effects in Hollywood.
Additionally, he is a member of the Visual Effects Society (VES), Serving on the LA BOM (Board of Manager’s), as well as a member of the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences.
